Crosslynx Transgender Helpline
It
is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that the Strathclyde
Gay & Lesbian Switchboard (SGLS) is winding down and will cease
business at the end of 2012.
As the Crosslynx Transgender
Helpline is affiliated to the SGLS and is located at the same place, we too, will be unfortunately be calling it a day.
All contacts are treated
Confidentially.
This
will provide a
contact point for anyone with questions relating to transgender issues.
We will endeavour to provide information about being transgendered
- If you fall into the
transgender area you will often feel isolated, though there is a varied
TG community. We can offer a link to that community.
- If you are a cross-dresser you may want to get out and meet others, or to talk about your feelings, or problems.
- If you are transsexual you may need information about medical services, or legal issues.
- If you are unsure of your gender you may need to talk, to explore your feelings, or to know where you can find further help.
- If you have a family member or
friend who may be in one of these groups, you may wish to understand
them better, or to talk about your own reactions.
Information available will cover various areas - on the Crosslynx group, and other
support groups across Scotland and beyond, on shopping, on beauty
treatment, on TS issues, on legal issues, amongst others.
If we cannot answer your questions, we will aim to direct you to other organisations who may be able to assist.
Whether you need information, we will try to help.
